POLICY ON CONDUCTING PROGRAMS INSIDE CVHTS TEMPLE HALL

To offer peace and tranquility inside the Temple Hall for all the devotees visiting any of the

deities installed inside the Temple Hall, we request all the devotees and visitors to the Temple

to observe the following guidelines while conducting any events in the hall. Currently these

guidelines are being very thoroughly thought out by the entire Executive Committee and the

Board of Trustees. Once this process is completed, Temple organization will carefully draft the

final policy on conducting programs inside the Temple Hall that will benefit all the community

and publish it. Meanwhile, observation of these guidelines is very much requested from every

member of the community. We appreciate all your cooperation. Any comments and

suggestions should be addressed in writing to CVHTS. Your suggestions will be thoroughly

reviewed.

¨ Only Temple designated priests and their official helpers are allowed inside any of the Sanctums. Devotees should not enter into any sanctums.

¨ All activities such as singing, dancing, discourses, classes, lectures must take place downstairs.

¨ Any Bhajans inside the Temple Hall should be of religious in nature and be limited to not more than an hour maximum.

¨ Instrumental music inside the Hall should be kept to an absolute minimum.

¨ Sound system and microphones should not be used upstairs except on special occasions and even then only with special permission from the Chairperson of the Programs Subcommittee of CVHTS.

¨ To honor the fire regulations, only the Priests will handle any oil or camphor lamps. Oil or camphor or any other open fires or open flame lamps are not allowed inside the Temple Hall.

¨ No Shanthipatt, Shraddam or Moksha Poojas should be conducted inside the Temple Hall.

¨ No photography of any of the deities allowed inside the Temple hall. However, you can take the pictures of people or groups conducting the poojas.

¨ No furniture other than approved by the Temple is allowed inside the Hall. No attachments such as pins, clips, nails, tapes that may leave permanent marks or damage walls, sthambas etc are allowed.

¨ Shoes, food and beverages are not allowed inside the Temple Hall. Only prasadam, theertham and fruits served by priests are allowed in the hall.

¨ Maintain silence inside the Temple Hall at all times. Keep all the private conversation and other noise level to a minimum. Keep all distractions inside the Hall to a minimum.

¨ Keep the conversations with the Priests inside the Hall to a minimum in order not to distract them from performing their duties. Any casual conversation with them should be outside the hall. Any phone calls to priests should be passed on to them only during their free time and never during the performance of poojas.

¨ Devotees may sit anywhere inside the hall as long as they wish during the Temple operating hours. However, chairs should be along the rear wall and mainly for elderly people.

¨ Please contact the Chairperson of the Programs Subcommittee or President immediately for any emergencies, fire alarms, etc.

¨ No solicitation of any kind allowed anywhere on the temple campus.
