Connecticut Valley Hindu Temple Society (CVHTS in short) is a Non-Profit Organization, founded in 1979 with the principle aim of serving cultural, religious and the social need of the Indian community in the State of Connecticut in particular and across North America in general. The society’s initial goals were

¨ To Build and maintain a Hindu Temple complex in the Central Connecticut Valley region to serve as a common place of worship.

¨ To organize Hindu poojas and festivals.

¨ To organize religious and spiritual discourses,  religious texts, yoga and meditation classes.

¨ To offer facilities for Indian languages studies and instructions in Indian classical and devotional music and dance.

¨ To arrange publications connected with Hinduism and Hindu culture , keeping in mind the special interest of children and youth.

¨ To provide facilities and organize cultural events in co-operation with other cultural organizations in the Connecticut Valley region.

¨ To engage in charitable and educational activities complying the objectives of the foundation.

 Most of the founders goals has been met and few of them await completion.

CVHTS continues to grow and stand as a strong symbol of Hindu  Heritage in Connecticut valley region and across North America.
